May 4th, 2026, is Melanoma Monday, and it’s the perfect opportunity to learn how to check your own skin between annual exams. 🩺
Melanoma is one of the most serious forms of skin cancer, but knowing what to look for can make all the difference.
Here’s a simple guide to help you monitor your skin between visits. When checking your moles and spots, remember the ABCDEs:
🔎 A – Asymmetry: One half doesn’t match the other. 🔎 B – Border: Edges are irregular, ragged, or blurred. 🔎 C – Color: Uneven color, including shades of brown, black, pink, red, or white. 🔎 D – Diameter: Larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser). 🔎 E – Evolving: The spot is changing in size, shape, or color.
