Dr. Prasanthi Kandula is a Board-certified dermatologist with special expertise in cosmetic, surgical and medical dermatology. She graduated magna cum laude from the combined BA/MD program at University of Missouri – Kansas City. In medical school, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received numerous awards for her academic achievements. She completed her internship in pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO and her dermatology residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN, where she served as chief resident.
Following her residency, she completed a nationally renowned fellowship in Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology at SkinCare Physicians. She developed expertise in a variety of cosmetic procedures including injections of neuromodulators such as Botox for facial lines and wrinkles, and fillers such as Juvederm and Voluma for facial rejuvenation; use of lasers and other energy devices for the treatment of rosacea, vascular birthmarks, sun damage and aging skin, acne scarring, and melasma.
Dr. Kandula has co-authored multiple book chapters and published articles. She is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatology Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, New England Dermatology Society, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Outside of practicing dermatology, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, running and spinning, and the ballet. Her enthusiasm and gentle demeanor combined with her expert skills make her a sought-after provider and beloved by our patients!
