What are Vbeam laser treatments?

The Vbeam is a pulsed dye laser treatment for rosacea and vascular lesions. Treatments deliver laser energy in pulses, and a dye is used to generate laser beams of different colors. Using different colored beams, we can effectively target hemoglobin to reduce redness on the face without damaging your skin or blood vessels.* The Vbeam laser is ideal for the treatment of:

  • Rosacea*
  • Facial blood vessels*
  • Vascular lesions*
  • Vascular red spots (angiomas)*
  • Vascular birthmarks (port-wine stains)*

How do Vbeam treatments work?

The Vbeam is a pulsed dye laser, which means that the laser energy is delivered in pulses and a dye is used to generate laser beams of different colors. This vascular laser targets hemoglobin, which is the red protein in blood cells in the blood vessels.* Skin cells that surround the dilated blood vessels are not damaged.* The short pulses feel like cold and hot snaps on the skin. A stream of cold air directed at the treated area helps to minimize discomfort.

When can I expect to see results?

The Vbeam Pulsed Dye Laser is gentle and effective in the treatment of vascular lesions.* Many patients will see results quickly, with a long-lasting effect.* Duration and frequency of treatments will vary from patient to patient due to the nature of their specific condition. Vbeam is not painful enough to require anesthesia.

Am I a candidate?

You may benefit from treatments if there is redness due to visible blood vessels on your cheeks, nose, chin or other parts of the face.* This includes, but is not limited to rosacea, angiomas and port-wine stains.* It may also be used to treat stubborn warts, scars, bruises or brown spots.* If you are pregnant, have taken Accutane for the past several months or if you have a history of cold sores or the herpes virus, we do not recommend these treatments.
