Need healthier holiday skin this year? You just survived Thanksgiving- you cleaned, cooked, worked, ate a lot of pie, drank a lot of wine, and now your skin and body are saying, “Are you serious that more holiday eating, drinking and parties are around the corner?!” We are here to HELP!

Over-indulgence is to be expected over the holidays! But that alcohol, late nights and chocolate can have an impact. Sugary foods can lead to a sudden rise in blood sugar causing a spike in insulin which can cause skin breakouts, increase oil production and exacerbate hormone imbalances. Salty party foods lead to dehydration, making the skin look more dull and hollow. A lot of salt intake also causes water retention where we don’t appreciate it, making us look puffy or swollen. Alcohol is dehydrating and can also flare flushing and rosacea.

We are NOT saying that you should stop having fun this month, but there are some things you can do to safeguard your skin this time of year!!

SURVIVAL ITEM #1 – SLEEP! 😴

Make time for yourself and get enough sleep. Holidays come with chaos- gift buying, decorating, hosting, and high workloads, so this may sound simple, but you have to live by it. Give yourself a few early nights to counteract the late ones. Don’t be puffy, it’s not a good look!

SURVIVAL ITEM #2 – Water! 💧

Staying hydrated is more important than ever this time of year. Alcohol is a diuretic, so you need more water than usual. Your skin looks more dry, dull, and wrinkly when dehydrated. Treat yourself to a new water bottle in some fun color, and fill it right after you have your first coffee. That way you can keep track of how much you really drank.

SURVIVAL ITEM #3 – A Hydrafacial 💦

This is when we need a deep cleanse to decongest the skin from the toxins, super-hydrate it, and make it glow with all our favorite ingredients! #3 is the most fun in your survival kit AND get this, instant gratification! You will glow!

SURVIVAL ITEM #4 – Alcohol-free days 🚫

Having some alcohol-free days will allow your body to recover from a bit of “seasonal excess.” Instead of a heavier holiday drink, you can also try a wine spritzer of red wine with sparkling water- you still get the antioxidants from the red wine. 😉 And have that extra glass of water before going to bed!

SURVIVAL ITEM #5 – Remove makeup before bed! 💄

It’s that much harder when we are out late or just exhausted from the day or week, but you HAVE to do it. Use a hydrating cleanser like Cerave Hydrating cleanser daily and a micro enzyme cleanser for a deeper clean three times a week, like our EltaMD foaming face cleanser

SURVIVAL ITEM #6 – Don’t skip the moisturizer! 🧴

The best way to protect your skin from the winter elements and to keep it hydrated is to use a cream-based moisturizer twice a day. Moisturizer is what helps us strengthen the skin’s natural barrier! Our Triple Lipid Repair twice a day will get the job done perfectly!

SURVIVAL ITEM #7 – Book yourself for some Botox. 💉

Don’t look angry between your eyes by ridding the squint lines. You’ll look HOLIDAY-READY!!

Don’t waste time. Plan your survival kit now!!! 🤩🤩🤩
